Film Classics: Rare German and Austrian Film Posters from 1925-1935

The Reinhold-Brown Gallery will present an exhibition titled Film Classics: Rare German and Austrian Film Posters from 1925-1935, comprising more than 20 rare German and Austrian posters made for classic American and German films for 1925-1935.

This extraordinary collection includes some of the rarest and most brilliantly designed examples in the history of the film poster. Represented in the exhibition are vivid and dramatic renderings of Greta Garbo in “Grand Hotel”, Marlene Dietrich in the “Blonde Venus”, Al Jolson in “The Jazz Singer”, Charlie Chaplin in “City Lights”, and Josephine Baker in “Queen of Paris”. Original posters for such classics as “King Kong”, “Ben Hur”, Sergei Eisenstein’s “Strike”, Fritz Lang’s “Frau um Mond” and the first Academy Award winning film “Wings”, will also be on view.
